Hockessin Art Festival is Here!

FEBRUARY 23-25, 2024 Hockessin Art Festival, Hockessin Memorial Hall, 610 Yorklyn Road, Hockessin, Delaware. Hours: Friday, 5-8 PM; Saturday, 10-5 PM; Sunday, 10-4 PM. Admission: $5 for adults, Free for children under 12. The Hockessin Art Festival is an annual fundraising effort to benefit the Wilmington & Western Railroad. More than 20 local artists will be displaying and selling limited edition prints, original watercolors, oils, acrylics, pastels, sculpture, fine jewelry, mosaics and more! 30% of all art sales go directly to supporting the Wilmington & Western. The Wilmington & Western is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization. The income raised from the Art Festival supports train operations, restoration projects, track maintenance and much more. While attending the Art Festival, take a break from shopping by riding the Art Festival Express. These historic train will depart from outside the Art Festival, and the friendly train crew will take you on a 40-minute round-trip through the towns of Yorklyn and Ashland. Through March 16, 2024 “Winter Show” Invitational group show at Bethlehem House Gallery, 459 Main St, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Closing Reception: March 16th, 6-9 pm. Featured Artists: Melissa Bryant, Devin Feely, Tomi J Petrella, Lynnette Shelley, Ward Van Haute. I have 12 artworks in this wonderful interior design gallery in the heart of Bethlehem, PA! Featured Artist at Peninsula Gallery

Through March 30, 2024 "The Art of Storytelling", Invitational group art show at  Peninsula Gallery, 520 East Savannah Road, Lewes, Delaware Peninsula Gallery's first exhibition of 2024 brings together fine art and narrative storytelling. “The Art of Storytelling,” which is on display from February 10 to March 30, features illustration paintings from five artists who use their art to tell visual narratives. This exhibition includes nearly 40 original illustrative works from Huilin Gui, Jennifer Hudson, Alexi Natchev, Laurence Schwinger, and Lynnette Shelley. While traditional painting and drawing simply shows a scene or object for what it is, storytelling illustration intentionally imposes characters, settings, and actions into an image, encouraging viewers to ask who or what the subjects are, how they are tied to their environment, and what may happen next within this constructed world. Attendees of this exhibition are invited to look at the work of each artist and create a narrative that speaks to them, using the artwork to spark their imagination. The gallery is located in the Village Shoppes at the Beacon Inn, 520 East Savannah Rd. Lewes, DE, and is open Tue-Sat 10-5, and Sun 11-3.Peninsula Gallery is one of the largest originals-only fine art galleries in Delaware and has bee in operation since 1996.
