Art On The Street, New Gallery & New Public Art!Happy Summer! I have lots of news to tell you this month - including a new “Art on the Street” event, new gallery representation and some new upcoming public art. Keep reading for details. First of all a big thank you to everyone who came out to the Chester County Studio Tour this past May. We had a very successful show at Gillian Pokalo’s studio thanks to you all. You guys rock and make all the hard work worth it! For those of you who came out to see my art demo, I’ve included the finished artwork below. “Summer Blooms”, 24 x 18 inches, mixed media on wood panel. Original painting is available for $1250.
Art on the Street THIS SATURDAY: June 18, 2022 Art On the Street - live painting on the street on Gallery Row in Lancaster, PA. 11 - 3 pm. I will be located on the street somewhere near Red Raven Art Company, located at 138 North Prince Street, Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Artwork will then be available for sale on the Red Raven website when finished. I will be working on a new painting as well as bringing a couple of finished paintings with me for show. Please note: this outdoor event will be weather permitting. If the weather is very bad, it’s possible we may be painting inside the gallery. If you need to confirm my availability at the show, please email me that day at lynnette@lynnetteshelley.com (or check my facebook page for updates). On a personal note: This will be my last public art event til the end of July as I will be undergoing two eye surgeries (one in late June and one in mid July) to try and correct my extreme nearsightedness (I am legallly blind without corrective lenses). Recovery time should be fairly quick (knock on wood!) so I should be up and running again by the time the big PA Guild of Craftsmen show comes to the Chase Center in Wilmington in late July. The surgeries would be life alterning for me, so while I am understandably nervous about getting surgery on my eyes, I am excited to be able to see properly on my own. I will be getting lens replacement surgery (where they replace the eye’s natural lens with an artificial lens). This is very much like cataract surgery, and I will be going to a specialist, so I am confident of a good outcome.

New Upcoming Public Art
I recently found out that some of my artworks will be used as reproductions in the hallways of the new Penn State Health Medical Center (opening in the Fall of 2022) in Lancaster County, PA. The five works chosen include: Enchanted Woodlands, Dive, Seen and Unseen, Neighbors, and Breach. Once the art is installed I'll try and get some photos of them on site.
