Happy March Everyone!
As we head out of the tail-end of winter, I know everyone is ready to get out of the house, ditch the winter clothes, start their spring cleaning or be on the look out for the first green things peeping out of the landscape. And while you're out, there is no better time to bring color back into your life with some art. I have a lot going on in the spring months, and I hope to see you at some of my shows. And for those of you who live too far away for a show, you can always see my work online on my websiteand I can ship just about anywhere.I can bring my art To YOU. Recently one collector contacted me from Texas to purchase an artwork I had at a show in Pennsylvania. I contacted the venue, had them marked the piece as sold and then shipped out the work to the collector in time for his birthday. Just email me if you want to discuss how you can give yourself or a loved one the gift of art.
SAVE THE DATE
For the past two years I have taken part in the wonderfulChester County Studio Tour as a guest artist at Monique Kendikian Sarkessian's lovely studio and home. This year, Monique has decided to be a guest artist another studio so I'll be changing venues and will be hosted by artist Jennifer Domal at her home studio in West Chester. Jennifer is an amazing artist who makes fantastic acid-etched and inked pysanky eggs in addition to intricate abstract pattern works. So save the date forMay 16-17 and bookmark Jennifer's studio location in West Chester, PA.. We will also be serving lots of yummy goodies for all of our guests in a fun, relaxed atmosphere so if you were very curious about my art or process or just want to see my work in person or buy yourself the gift of original art, you should come out.
This year there are 100 artists and 48 studiosparticipating in the tour which takes place at artists homes and studios all across Chester County Pennsylvania. If you have never gone, it's a great way to get up close and personal with artists and their art, while informally touring their studio space and getting to purchase all kinds of art in a wide variety of price ranges.
I will be also sending out postcard reminders for the show for those of you who have added your mailing addresses to my mailing list and live within driving distance to the tour. If you have not done so already, please update your mailing list information so I have your address if you would like to receive a postcard reminder.
Another benefit of the tour is each artist is offering a"County Collector" which is a special 6x6 inch artwork available for purchase for 75 dollars. Each artist has only ONE of these collectible pieces and when this idea debuted last year there were lines outside some of the artists' studio doors before the show opened so people could get first crack at them. The County Collectors are only available for this special price the weekend of the tour. I am about to start working on my County Collector piece (and the Chester County Studio Tour website will be posting images of all the artists pieces in the weeks leading up to the tour so you can see what will be available).
Here is a photo of last year's County Collector piece that went to a lucky collector for $75 during the tour. My new piece is also 6x6 inches and will be mixed media on hardboard that comes with a custom black floater frame.
BELOW: "Early Bird", 6 x 6 inches, mixed media on hardboard. SOLD as a "County Collector" piece at last year's Chester County Studio Tour.
