See You In September

Happy September! The lazy days of Summer are almost over (not that I've been lazy, as I've been busy in the studio and with shows) and the cooler months of the fall are almost upon us. Before winter comes knocking, though, I hope to see some of you out at some of my upcoming shows. 

Through September 8, 2013
Art of the State (juried), State Museum of Pennsylvania, 300 North Street, Harrisburg, PA. This is a prestigious annual juried museum show featuring works by Pennsylvania-based artists. My artwork "The Dogs of War" will be on display.

Through September 30th, 2013
JAM Gallery, 321 East King Street, Malvern, PA. Artist Reception September 6, 5-7 PM. This is the new gallery I helped launch this past August. My work will be on permanent display in one of the gallery rooms (with work rotating out on an ongoing basis), which I will share with artist / Gallery owner Melanie Fisher. The other gallery rooms will showcase work by  regional and national artists. All work is for sale.

September 1-30, 2013
Solo Art Show at Balance Gallery, located within Balance Health Center, 112 S. 20th Street, Philadelphia, PA; 215.751.0344. Artist Reception is September 13, 6-7 PM..

September 1 - November 30, 2013
 The Art of It, 315 Old York Road, Jenkintown, PA 19046. First Wednesday reception September 4th, 6-9 PM. I will also be doing a live demonstration in front of The Art Of It during the Jenkintown Art Festival on September 22nd. The Art of It is a new gallery that I am working with and I am sharing wall space with talented artist Tanya Bhagwat, whose amazing contemporary oil paintings of horses on linen and fabric are fluid, dynamic and expressive. Brandywine Festival of the Arts, Brandywine Park, 1001 North Park Drive, Wilmington, DE 19802. Hours: Sat. 10-6 PM, Sun 10-4. Rain or Shine. $5 admission. Children under 12 years of age admitted free. (I will have my exact location in the park noted on my website in the next few days).

GALLERY SPOTLIGHT

JAM GALLERY, 321 EAST KING STREET, MALVERN, PA


This is the gallery I helped launch this past August with artist friend and gallery owner, Melanie Fisher. The new space looks amazing and I hope to see you come on out to our shows. The gallery is divided into three rooms, plus a mini studio and an office. The main gallery features rotating shows by regional and national artists that Melanie and I hand pick to show in the space. The second room features work by both Melanie and I, and the third room will feature smaller works by all the artists in the gallery. We have artist receptions every First Friday and we will also be having Second Saturday receptions in the near future, as well as other special events. Stay tuned for details....



FIRST FRIDAY ARTIST RECEPTION

JAM Gallery opened our doors this past month on August 10th, and we wanted to say thank you to all the support the Gallery has gotten from friends, community members, neighbors and artists. Our inaugural show looks fantastic, as those who came out to our soft opening on August 10 can attest. But if you missed this, or if you just want to come again, we invite you to our first big First Friday Artist Reception this coming Friday, September 6 from 5 to 7 PM. We have some more new art and sculpture in the gallery since the we first opened our doors. We are also busy hatching plans for the future so please keep reading our emails, visiting the website's news page, friend us on facebook, or just stop by the gallery for a chat, so you can keep informed.

For those of you thinking of buying artwork to add to your collection, and for those thinking of starting a collection, we invite you to come on out and see what JAM has to offer. We have a variety of styles, sizes, colors and compositions to choose from, and in various budgets. We also offer layaway to those who might want to take something home but would prefer to spread out the purchase payments. Artworks and sculpture can also be shipped to those who live out of town. Have any questions or concerns, just ask! We want to work with you so that you can own your own one-of-a-kind treasures.
