Band Of the Day: Popul Vuh

Just watched Werzer Herzog's excellent 1979 "Nosferatu" film last night, starring favorite Klaus Kinski in the titled role, and amazing soundtrack work by the German band Popul Vuh.

Popul Vuh were the earliest pioneers of ambient and space rock music. Popul Vuh's music appeared on many of Herzog's films, including Aguirre, the Wrath of God (My personal favorite Kinski film), Fitzcarraldo, Heart of Glass and The Enigma of Kaspar Hauser. Popul Vuh founder Florian Fricke appeared in the latter.
