Surreal Photography

A couple of interesting photographers I've been digging lately - Andrezj Dragan and Jill Greenberg. Both are well-known and have been working commercially for some time, but they both employ an almost hyper real effect to their photography (to the point the images become surreal). The work is retouched extensively in an image editing program so that they are not longer a snapshot of reality. It's the exact opposite of journalistic style photography, and almost becomes a photographic painting. Very intriguing work.

Speaking of photography: I also came across these beautifully shot images of Toxic Nudibranch by National Geographic. That sounds like a new Toxic Avenger movie, doesn't it?
