ON THE DRAWING BOARD

My current work in progress is a 24 x 48 inches artwork that will be the centerpiece for my upcoming featured art show at Exhibit B Gallery in Souderton October 18 to November 9. 2019. I am hoping the entire artwork will be completed in the next couple of weeks (Be sure to follow along on my Facebook or Instagram pages if you don't already!)

Here are some photos of the progress so far. The artwork's motif is the hare and the tortoise fable from Aesop. In my depiction, it's at the start of the race and various animals have come out to see the tortoise and the hare compete. The hare has an early lead in the beginning but we all know eventually his cockiness is his downfall (he decides to take a nap halfway through the race as he's so far ahead of the tortoise. But then the determined tortoise overtakes him while he is snoozing, and gets across the finish line first).

Watch a video here of the artwork at its current level of completion or THIS VIDEO of me working on crosshatching the hare with an ink pen.
