Work in Progress: Three Stags
I started a new artwork in the past couple of days inspired by a photograph that someone shared with me of three stags entwined by their antlers as they battled with each other. In that case, unfortunately, all three stags died as one fell in some deep water and dragged the others down with him to their deaths. However, in my version, all three stags are still very much alive and battling with each other. I also took liberties with the positioning of the stags to get maximum dynamics in their poses.
Here is a video of the start of the artwork a couple of days ago:

As a fellow artist who adores line, your mastery of it always inspires me!
I am using a Pilot Precise (V5) pen, which I use almost exclusively for doing hatching. It's not very expensive compared to other "fine art" pens and you can pick up at any drug store or office supply store. I've used other pens but I really like this one because it never leaks, and ink always runs smooth. The ink is fade-resistant and waterproof, however I do run over the lines with a wet brush after just applying to create some wash and gradiation effects. So you can bleed the ink when it's still wet on the page.
