Work In Progress: To Be Titled (Eagle and Serpent)

I'm working on a new artwork to get ready for an extremely busy fall art show season that's only going to get even busier as I add some more shows (I now have an opportunity for a NYC show in November that I am seriously considering and should have my plans finalized by next week. Stay tuned for details. Or better yet, come on out to the Brandywine Festival of the Arts this weekend in Wilmington, DE and talk to me about it.). Not to mention I've started work on a new cover illustration for author Andrew Levkoff's second book in his Bow of Heaven trilogy. Buy the first book here in e-book or paperback form! (I've read it and its a really nice work of historical fiction).

Anyway, this next piece explores the struggle between man's lower and higher nature, symbolically represented by the snake and eagle, respectively. In world mythologies, the serpent also often represents the underworld, and the eagle the heavens. I'll have to come up with an  appropriate title, but in the meantime, here are some work in progress photos.
