Official press release from Immaculata:
Immaculata University's 28th Annual Art Show will be held from May 14 to May 22 in Alumnae Hall, with a preview party on May 13 at 7 p.m.  The show will feature 186 artists, including more than 70 artists who are new to the show, who work with paint, stained glass, precious metals, photography, clay, and other media.  The preview party tickets are $75, and the art show is free and open to the public Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.  All proceeds from preview party tickets and art purchases will go to University initiatives.

A new component of this year’s art show will be the sculpture garden café, an area where guests can sit, enjoy the sculptures of 14 different artists, and purchase food from John Serock Catering.  Some of the larger sculptures in the garden will also be displayed outside in the area surrounding Alumnae Hall.

The art show’s featured artist will be Michael Budden, a painter in Chesterfield, NJ whose work focuses on wildlife and landscapes.  Budden has contributed numerous paintings to the art show, which include a view of Logan Park in Philadelphia, beach scenes, and snow scenes.  His paintings are known for their bold brushwork and skilled depiction of light.  Budden has won many awards for his work, such as the 2006 White House Easter Egg Award for New Jersey, two awards at the Salmagundi Club in New York City, and the 2009 Alden Bryan Memorial Award for Traditional Landscape in Oil.

Sponsors of the 2011 art show include Apple Spice Junction, ARAMARK Dining Services, Cornucopia Catering, Inc., Cupcakes Gourmet, Gourmet Buffets, John Serock Catering, Ludwig’s Village Market and Catering, Ship Inn, Victory Brewing Company, and Victory Brewpub and Restaurant.
