Clockwork Creature

Thanks to our intrepid i-reporter David Pym for sending in the following: A monstrously beautiful clockwork creation is a new addition to Cambridge's Corpus Christi College. The clock will be unveiled (by Professor Stephen Hawking no less!) to the public on Friday, the 19th of September. The clock costs 1 million pounds and took five years to build.

The man who created the clock is inventor Dr John Taylor, an Honorary Fellow at Corpus Christi, and it is not only a machine but a work of art. It is inspired by a mechanism called the Grasshopper Escapement, dreamed up by the master 18th Century English clockmaker John Harrison.
Speaking of beastly creations, I just finished some new artwork of a Thunderbird, a Native American mythological figure, and just started a new work tonight of a greyhound. I will post some pictures shortly. I also landed some new art shows in October and November... so stay tuned for details.
