Work in Progress: Autumnal II

I was recently selected to be a part of a juried art show this May at Countryside Gallery in Newtown, PA. (see my exhibitions page on my website for my upcoming events). The theme is landscapes. As followers of my art would know, I don't do a lot of landscapes, however, I did recently started making some tree pieces. My artwork, "Autumnal" in particular came out rather well (and was a test for me to try my hand at landscapes), so I decided to make a larger artwork based off of this one.

So last night I started the sketch for "Autumnal II". This one measures 36 x 24 inches and is on extra fine art board. Please click on images to enlarge.

And for those of you who are curious about such things, this is my studio set up at the moment. It's pretty  modest (as it's just a spare room in my apartment), but hopefully at some point I can get a "real" studio space to work out of. In the meantime, this is where it all happens....

Note Magnus supervising in the studio. Sometimes he likes to "help" out. See below.

Paintbrushes are not appropriate chew toys for kitens ;)
