Work In Progress - "The Kraken"

As some of my you may know, my husband and I were robbed last week of a bunch of our musical equipment while coming back from Red Masque band gig. My camera, unfortunately, was also in one of the gear bags that was taken. I do have a new camera coming to me but it’s not here yet. So in the meantime, here is a partial scanned detail of a much larger image of my current work in progress. This section comes from the bottom right corner of the artwork. I couldn’t fit the whole artwork into my scanner bed though. The art measures 16 × 20″
The actual artwork is ink on Arches 140 lb. hot press watercolor board, with a little bit of white pastel pencil
there is still much work to be done. I also finished up another artwork (“The Rat King”) that is currently at a photographer’s house, so hopefully I should have images to post up on Redbubble in the next day or two.
For those of you unfamiliar with a kraken, it’s a huge leviathon from folklore that lives in the sea and has attacked ships with it’s long tentacles. Nowadays many theorize that sailor’s accounts of these krakens were probably describing giant squid.
So my stylized drawing is based off of a giant squid, though I have taken some liberties with it.
The images just below are just a partial detail of the overall image.
